Styles of Ceiling Lights and Chandeliers for the Home
When redecorating your home, the one thing that should be replaced at an easy expense is ceiling lights and or chandeliers. There are a vast variety of lighting fixtures that you can choose from and if you do not know the differences in them, it can be hard to know which type is going to work well in your home. Here are some samples that you might want to choose from when deciding which ceiling lights is right for your home.
Flush mount ceiling lights are going to have a light that is flush against the ceiling of your home. This light is most common in low ceiling settings because it does not require a dangling light or does not require a lot of room. If you are looking for a light for a breakfast area that is small and confined, this would be a great choice.
Semi-flush mounted ceiling fixtures are going to have a base that is placed against the ceiling. The base is going to be where the wires are connected and then hidden. The wires will need to be capped off in order to prevent sparking when touched by the metal from the ceiling light.
Indoor ceiling lights are different from outdoor ceiling fixtures. The reason for this is because the light fixtures made for outside are meant to be able to get wet. If water was to come into contact with an inside light fixture, it would typically cause the light to no longer work. When the rain or snow comes into contact with the light for outside, it should remain on and working.
Fluorescent ceiling lights are made to use fluorescent light bulbs. If you want a light that is going to work for extended amounts of time, this would be a good choice. The fluorescent lighting fixtures come in a variety of sizes and shapes from the small circular ones to the large rectangular fixtures that are common in business and schools.
Chandeliers are typically used in open spaces in the home such as a foyer and in breakfast areas or dining areas. If you search for chandeliers, then you know that you can purchase some that require candles, some require specific light bulbs and some even have jewels hanging from them. Also note that some of them require special mounting because of the weight of the chandelier.
